THE THERAPIST · FIELD NOTE 02

Warm. Direct.
Curious.
And very much human.

I’m Jamie Tushner, a licensed clinical professional counselor and the therapist behind Mindful Revolution. I work with young adults and adults who are thoughtful, capable—and often tired of carrying so much alone.

THE WORK
Depth, honesty, movement

A REAL PERSON WILL MEET YOU HERE

I’ll meet you in the room—
not from across it.

My style is engaged, compassionate, playful when it fits, and honest when it matters. I won’t sit silently and nod while you do all the work. I’ll be with you in it—asking questions, noticing patterns, and helping you put language to what has been difficult to name.

I believe therapy is most useful when it feels less like being evaluated and more like being met. You do not need to perform insight, arrive with a polished explanation, or make a compelling case for why something hurts.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE

You do not have to be impressive here. You only have to be willing to notice what is true.

HOW I WORK · 01—03

Depth without getting lost there.

01

Relational, not removed.

The relationship we build is part of the work. I pay attention not only to what you tell me, but to what unfolds between us—and I bring my own humanity into the room.

02

Curiosity before judgment.

Even the patterns you want to change likely began as intelligent attempts to protect you. We can understand their purpose without letting them run the whole operation.

03

Insight with somewhere to go.

Understanding matters. So does experimenting with something different—in the room, in your relationships, and in the life waiting beyond the explanation.

THE CLINICAL LENS

Responsive to the person—not loyal to a script.

My work draws from attachment, experiential, cognitive, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed approaches. Those frameworks help me understand what may be happening; they do not replace the person sitting in front of me.

There is no one-size-fits-all protocol here. Therapy should respond to your history, your nervous system, your relationships, and what becomes possible as we work together.
